Thompson is a middle-management employee of Koestler Industries, a global communications firm with satellite ground stations dotted all over the world.
Dealing with the fallout of a messy breakup (and breakdown) by attempting to holiday in the New Zealand resort of Queenstown, Thompson is called back to work by a fax from head office.
Something has gone wrong at the station in Claybourne. And since you’re already in that part of the world…
